About me

Insightful and inspirational counselling, leading to healing and self growth. Experienced BACP registered counsellor working with adults and young people. We all have times in life when things seem to get on top of us. We may feel confused, anxious, or depressed. Sometimes it just feels like we are going round in circles, getting nowhere in particular. Having someone to talk to can lighten  the load and this is often easier with someone other than family or friends.  How it all works and how it can help My belief is that the process of being listened to in a non- judgmental way may offer a sense of freedom to explore parts of yourself or your life that you previously may not have felt safe enough to venture into. I will work with you, offering both compassion and calm, guiding and gently probing so that a new light may shine. This will all be held together by the sense of security you may feel from having a safe space the room where we agree to meet and clear boundaries a regular time slot that every week . Having this stability, in what can sometimes feel a bit like a whirlwind, can often make a difference.  Sometimes this involves looking into the past to see what patterns have evolved and how they are currently manifesting themselves. It can trigger explorations into areas you may not have considered.  In other cases the work revolves around the particular issue that you have come to seek help around. For this reason the work that we do is centred around your needs and expectations.  My way of working I am  a Humanistic and Integrative counsellor. That basically means that I hold the belief that you are the expert of your own life. Given the right conditions you have the ability to make changes and to grow and thrive. I will travel alongside you in your journey, offering you the sense that you are not alone. In order to support the work we do together, I will incorporate a range of different theoretical frameworks. At the core of this is you, and the healing relationship we form.   Areas I have worked with in the past: Addictions, Body image, Low self esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Parenting, Body image, Relationships, Gender Loss,   Location I am based in two areas in Bristol: Sycamore House in Kingswood, a tranquil room with parking and easy transport links Warmley Wellness Centre: a quiet and peaceful setting with nearby parking and bus links.  Walk and talk For some people being in a counselling room may bring up some discomfort or anxiety. My sessions outdoors offer a different kind of potential. Here, we can walk side by side with you leading the pace. Choosing whether we walk the same way, a different way, or taht we might even sit down for a bit. This kind of session allows us to be together in nature, to notice our bodies and our breathing, and to feel grounded. Being in nature can have a positive effect on our physical, emotional and psychological selves. Walking in itself can increase blood flow to our brains and a calming effect on the brain. If you would like to try this kind of counselling we would arrange either an online, or in person session first to talk about your needs and how this might work best for you.

Fee structure

I charge £55.00 for a 50 minute session.    When you make contact, I will endeavor to get back you as quickly as possible as I am aware that it can be a big step in itself to reach out for help. Between us we then try to arrange a time to meet up to discuss your needs. The first session will be an introductory assessment session to get a feel for how it might be to work together. If we would like to continue we will agree a day and time to meet on a weekly basis. This is then the beginning of your journey to self- discovery.
