Millie Burton
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I am a fully trained integrative counsellor and a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I work with individual adults of all ages in weekly sessions on a long-term, open-ended or short-term basis.
I offer a non-judgemental space in which you and I can explore what may be blocking you from feeling more comfortable in yourself, your life and your relationships.
As an integrative counsellor I bring to my work an interest in attachment, child development and relational body psychotherapy. This means that I pay particular attention to early childhood experiences and relationship patterns, as well as our here-and-now experience, especially that which is most difficult to articulate. Most importantly, I listen and attend to what you bring to each session.
I have experience of working with relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, chronic ambivalence and indecision, infertility, adoption, menopause and parenting.
I have worked in a play therapy setting with children at a South London primary school, and with adults at therapy services in Wandsworth and Queens Park.
As a client, it can feel daunting to meet a new or first therapist and it is important to find someone with whom you feel comfortable. The first session is a chance for us to get a sense of whether we can work together, and there is no obligation to continue if not. If you have any questions before our meeting please do get in touch.
