About me

I qualified as a Counsellor in 2012 passing the Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy but did not commence practising as a Counsellor at that time.  I became a Legal Secretary, but counselling was always in my heart and in my head, I just never felt I was at the appropriate stage in my life to counsel others, however, after various traumatic events and losses in my life where I sought counselling myself, I have now found peace and the life tools to cope, I feel I am now ready to help others to find peace themselves which is something I feel I have always wanted to do. I use an integrative approach to counsel clients, the Person-Centred approach, which strives to help you fulfil your potential and maximise your well-being by using a non-directive approach and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which will enable you to modify your thought process by changing your negative self-beliefs and your behavioural patterns. I focus on the quality of the client-counsellor relationship as I believe each person is an individual who is considered to be unique.  Our counselling relationship can be short or long term depending on the issue or issues you wish to explore and your individual needs. I work with adults and welcome all backgrounds.  I will provide a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic safe space to enable you to explore any problems or issues you may wish to discuss with me in a supportive and warm environment which will empower you to bring about positive changes within your life.  I will not tell you what to do, or give advice, but will aim to provide a safe and confidential environment in which you can talk about yourself, your problems, concerns and hopes and where you can decide what, if any, changes you may wish to make in your life.  I will endeavour to help all clients in this process in a way that is supportive and empowering. My aim will be to help you to feel comfortable, trusting and sufficiently supported to bring any issues you may wish to explore.
