Psychosynthesis counsellorAbout Me
We often tell our lives as stories in order to make meaning out them. Sometimes our own story seems to disrupt due to an immediate crisis or issues to do with our past which cause us distress. Perhaps a combination of both. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and gentle space for you to tell your story. Together we can look at what is causing you pain, where it's roots may be and what impact it is having on your day to day life. Often an overwhelming crisis can show us the way forward, though it seldom feels like it at the time. My training is as a Psychosynthesis counsellor and this helps me to hold both your immediate issues as well as what is trying to emerge for you . I believe that your relationship with your therapist is of vital importance, so after an initial session you will have a brief time to reflect on whether we could work together before making a decision to continue.
My areas of expertise are:
Anxiety
Depression
Bereavement
Loss of purpose
Self-worth
Childhood trauma
Audition/performance anxiety
Entering into therapy is not always easy but if you are considering it, especially for the first time, you are already looking to further your self-care.
In the words of Pierro Ferruci :
' If you work on yourself, you are already participating in the extraordinary, ageless work of overcoming darkness and pain, and the evocation of latent potential'
(What We May Be: Tarcher Penguin)
I have a background in both the theatre and teaching and have worked with individuals involved in the creative industries. In a volunteering capacity, I worked for many years supporting individuals in emotional crisis.
