About me

Life can sometimes be hard and issues from our past and present can affect us at anytime.  This can leave us feeling unable to cope, effecting us at work and home, effecting our relationships and adding tension in our daily lives. I am a qualified therapist working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, miscarriage, bereavement, trauma, abortion, self-harm and self-esteem.  I have worked extensively with adults and young people 14-18 years of age . Working together to help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems, counselling enables you to understand yourself, your patterns and behaviours and choosing what changes you want.     I have experience of working within an NHS environment and general counselling agencies. I maintain my continued personal development attending events, workshops and courses that include: sexual violence, self-harm, suicide and adult victims of childhood sexual abuse. My background in the corporate world left me unhappy and not understanding my own feelings and emotions and knowing I wanted more from my life.  I made the decision to retrain as a therapist and feel my understanding of the pressure of life, family and relationships enables me to connect empathically in a non-judgemental way. Getting started:  Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task and I would always ensure we have an initial chat so that you can decide whether I am the right therapist for you.   Initially we would have a call to understand what is bringing you to counselling, what is happening in your life and what you would like to get out of your sessions.  If you were then happy to continue we would then agree either weekly or bi-weekly sessions, depending on what suited you.
