About Me

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor working with people experiencing painful relational dilemmas in their personal and professional lives.  I trained at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London and have a particular interest in a psycho-spiritual approach to life and therapy.  This means connecting with the core essence of who we really are, occupying our own lives wholeheartedly and feeling peaceful with how we show up in the world.

The therapy that I offer is very much about relationship both with ourselves and significant others and how to balance the two.  For example, I work with people who are feeling stressed about a close personal relationship and wondering whether to stay or leave or who feel distressed at finding themselves alone after their partner or spouse walk out. Also those who are living with addiction in the family; torn between their love for that family member and the pain of living with the emotional abuse, manipulation and lies which come with this condition.  There are many circumstances like these, in which we can notice feeling lost to ourselves and sad and angry about the loss of relationship with people who matter to us.

I also work with people who find managing relationships in their professional lives stressful, who might be feeling anxious and trapped in jobs with an unrelenting and overwhelming workload and/or are worried about redundancy with all the practical and relationship issues that arise from being out of work. For others, it might be relational difficulties with colleagues or line managers or being the target of workplace bullying.

Facing these difficulties whether personal, professional or both, can feel overwhelmingly daunting and raise dilemmas that feel difficult to solve.  Life can feel as if it is getting on top of us and becomes something to survive rather than enjoy. The therapy that I offer seeks to provide a supported and confidential space for you to look at your issues and develop clarity; to decide a way forward that allows you to reclaim your life and feel peaceful with your choices.

Before training as a counsellor, I was a management consultant working in large companies working both as an employee and freelance.  I enjoyed my work for many years but there was a point where there was no joy in it anymore.  This career took its toll on my personal relationships too and culminated in the breakdown of my long marriage.  Through therapy, I was able to meet not just these seemly intractable life challenges, but most importantly myself in a new way. This has enabled me to create the life I really longed for filled with love, purpose and meaning and the emotional resilience to live life on life's terms.
