About me

I'm Jimi Katsis, im based in Bristol but working specifically online. I've been practicing for 35 years, which means I've watched therapy evolve and had time to figure out what actually creates change versus what just sounds good. Most people who reach out have already tried therapy. Sometimes it helped with immediate symptoms but didn't address the deeper patterns. You maybe looking for someone who understands anxiety, depression, or relationship problems which are usually surface manifestations of something older and more embedded. I work integratively—Schema Therapy, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, psychodynamic approaches. Not because I'm collecting credentials, but because different people need different ways in. Some need to understand their patterns cognitively first. Others need to work through the body because talking hasn't touched it. I adapt to what actually moves things for you. I also have a life outside the therapy room—I make music, written books and a podcast, also raised a family of five. That matters because I understand the complexity of being human, not just being a client. The pressure of responsibility. The exhaustion of keeping multiple plates spinning. The gap between who you are privately and who you have to be publicly. What I offer is straightforward: a space where you don't have to perform, where we focus on understanding what's actually driving your struggles, then changing it. Not managing it better—changing it. Free consultation to start. Let's see if we're a good fit.

My commitment extends beyond the session itself. Between sessions, I remain actively engaged — reading reflections, responding to emails where needed, and carrying your process with me. This isn’t therapy that resets every week. It’s a sustained relationship. The fee reflects the depth of that commitment — not just the hour we spend together, but the space I hold between those hours as well.

Training and qualifications

I hold a BA in Counselling Psychotherapy and I'm BACP registered. I've been practicing for 35+ years, which means I've had time to train in multiple approaches and figure out what actually works. My training includes Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, and psychodynamic approaches. I'm integrative not because it sounds impressive but because different people need different ways in. I use whatever genuinely helps you, not whatever I'm most comfortable with. I specialize in working with adults whose current struggles show up as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, or just this exhausting sense that you're going through the motions of a life that doesn't feel like yours. I work with adults who feel buried underneath what they do, but disconnected from who they are. People who've tried therapy before and got some relief but are still left with this sense that nobody's addressed what's actually wrong. My approach is straightforward: understand what's driving the patterns, then change them. Not manage symptoms better—actually address the root. That takes evidence-based methods applied flexibly, honesty about what's working and what isn't, and enough experience to know when to push and when to wait.
