About me
My focus is on helping people find steadiness during life's transitions and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. I work with people who are navigating burnout, grief, neurodivergent experiences, and the complex questions that arise when life shifts unexpectedly. I believe that you don't need to be fixed you need to be supported while you rediscover who you are. I am an integrative counsellor and breathwork facilitator with over 10 years of clinical experience. I work from The Serenity Practice in Bridport, Dorset. I am also the founder of a Community Interest Company focused on making therapeutic care more accessible to marginalised communities. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with nervous system regulation and embodiment practices. I believe talking is vital, but sometimes the body needs its own way to release what it has been holding. We move between the head and the heart, responding to whatever emerges grief, rage, unexpected joy, or simply a deep need to be quiet. People come to therapy for many different reasons: - Burnout and exhaustion from holding everything together - Grief and loss that has reshaped their world - Understanding and navigating neurodivergence (particularly ADHD and autism) - Mid-life transitions and questions of identity and purpose - Relationship patterns that keep repeating - Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming emotional states - Trauma and its ongoing impact - Feeling disconnected from themselves or unable to name what they're carrying - The sense that the way they've been living is no longer sustainable As someone who is AuDHD and of mixed Irish and West African heritage, I bring lived experience of navigating multiple identities and the particular challenges that come with existing between worlds. I understand the exhaustion of masking, sensory overwhelm, and existing in systems not built for us. I also understand that burnout is not a personal failing but a symptom of isolation. How therapy can help I believe therapy offers a unique and confidential relationship where you can explore what's really happening beneath the surface. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space to understand your patterns, process difficult emotions, and find your way through transitions. Many people arrive feeling overwhelmed or unable to articulate what they need. My work is to support you to connect with your body and your knowing. I hold space for complexity and contradiction. I don't offer advice or quick fixes. Instead, I offer steady, relational support while you make sense of your experience. Through our work together, people often find: - Greater self-understanding and self-compassion - Relief from anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm - Improved relationships and communication - Tools for nervous system regulation - A clearer sense of who they are and what they need - Permission to feel everything without shame The areas I work with include: - Burnout and stress - Grief, loss, and bereavement - Neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, and related experiences) - Anxiety and depression - Trauma and PTSD - Identity and belonging (including mixed-heritage and racial identity) - Mid-life transitions and existential questions - Relationship difficulties and attachment patterns - Self-esteem and self-worth - Life transitions (career changes, relocation, role changes) - Recovery and addiction What I offer I work from a purpose-built therapeutic space in Bridport and also offer online sessions. I provide: - Weekly/Fortnightly 1:1 counselling/ breathwork/ somatic (90-minute sessions) - Therapeutic day retreats for deeper work - A sliding scale for those experiencing financial hardship Taking the first step Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. I offer an initial consultation where we can explore whether we're a good fit. I offer a space where it is safe to unravel.
