Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
About me
I am an experienced, accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering integrative therapy at a peaceful space in Crystal Palace. Meeting my clients with warmth and authenticity, I offer a relationship based on safety and trust. I have practiced as a therapist in primary care (GP surgeries) as well in the charitable sector for 25 years, which has included resolving a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, mental health problems, and addictions. I work with individuals and couples and offer therapy in English and German language.
My specialist services are: body psychotherapy; counselling and mediation for couples; trauma informed psychotherapy; counselling for work related problems and burnout prevention; issues affecting older people; and counselling for family members affected by someone else's addiction.
Therapy as an Investment in Your Wellbeing
Therapy can be the gateway to living your life more fully and connecting more deeply with yourself and others.
Whether there is something missing in your life or some loss of direction, therapy can help you regain your sense of balance and discover new perspectives, with the fresh eyes of awareness.
Whether you wish to look at a current issue or something more deeply-rooted, I offer a secure and confidential space where you can be heard and listened to.
The therapeutic relationship is at the core of my work. This mutual encounter can create a sense of shared curiosity about your needs, thus opening the door to your self-expression. When the unfolding of your therapeutic process happens at your pace, new insights can safely be voiced and integrated.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy with individuals and couples. I regard a "couple" in its wider sense and welcome two relationship partners as much as family members, friends, and work colleagues. I practice counselling and mediation, whereby I hold the space for you to become the experts of your own interpersonal problems.
My Integrative Psychotherapy
Integrative counselling and psychotherapy is a unique therapeutic approach based on contemporary research and teaching methods. My integrative approach is based on psychoanalytic and humanistic ideas. I combine components of attachment theory (John Bowlby), Gestalt, and relational psychotherapy.
I also integrate body psychotherapy, which can be useful when our primary go-to is our head. Over-thinking can leave us feeling preoccupied rather than having the head space we actually need. Embodied therapy can be a safe and playful way to unlock the wisdom of our felt experience. When we listen to its powerful message, we can come to integrate the mind and body, feeling more whole.
I am interested in issues of belonging in a multi-cultural society and work in English and German language.
Therapy as an Investment in Your Wellbeing
Whilst it takes courage to engage in therapy, I think that it is a process worth investing in - as your commitment and continuity is likely to strengthen your healing process. Your therapy will be most effective with regular attendance, which is why weekly therapy is encouraged at the start.
