Chandrika Patel
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Finding the right therapist can sometimes feel daunting. I work hard to make sure my sessions are welcoming whether you're new to therapy or you've worked with therapists before. I offer a warm and empathetic space for you to share your thoughts and reflect on your life.
I value my clients' unique perspectives and I believe the relationship between us is key in creating a therapeutic space. I believe in authenticity in place of jargon and curiosity in place of assumptions.
My therapeutic approach is integrative which means I have a ''toolbox'' of styles and approaches and I use them in collaboration with you and your preferences. I work with clients on a short and long term basis.
I have worked in education for over a decade now as well as in the charity sector. This has allowed me to work with young people, adults and people from a wide range of backgrounds. I have broad lived experience which has enabled me to create safe and supportive spaces for my clients.
My career history has allowed me to specialise in the following areas: maternal mental health, young people's wellbeing, family and relationship struggles, challenges of identity, work place stress, grief, body image and sexuality.
Whether you're experiencing normal stress or stronger anxiety, whether you're stuck in a rut or generally fine, I believe therapy is for everybody.
