About Me

I am an accredited Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) specialising in trauma and relationship related issues (EMDR practitioner).  I recently completed training in EFT (emotional freedom technique), this is a body/mind therapy and self help method. Depending on your needs/goals I always aim to help my clients get to the essence of the issues and understand any barrier towards change.  I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship, which I see as a collaborative one, plays a crucial factor in the healing process. For over sixteen years I have been working to help people deal with many issues including: anxiety, depression, stress, relationship/attachment difficulties, addiction and other types of psychological issues.

Prior to my professional training as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, I had a wealth of experience working in Public Relations and marketing for over fifteen years and this expereince has been beneficial in my work with Employee Assistance Providers and Workplace Counselling, together with clients who may be struggling with business related difficulties.

I have a strong belief in the uniqueness and worth of every human being and as an intuitive person who is also quite down to earth, I truly value and appreciate the realness of people.

I work with individuals and couples going through significant life changes e.g. relationship issues, job loss, career change, life-threatening illness, bereavement, mid-life crisis, which result in feelings of isolation, insecurity, desperation and depression. I also have experience of working with sexual abuse, trauma and violence. I have several years experience of working with different social and cultural client groups
