Ana Rampelt
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
I have been working with people in various capacities for over 20 years, joining them in sense-making journeys that allow them to live more content and meaningful lives. My therapeutic focus is to help people explore their thoughts, emotions and past so as to relieve difficult states or obstacles to their wellbeing. When people understand what drives their behaviour and make contact with lost or hidden parts of themselves, they can start sustaining positive relationship and gain a sense of ownership to their life.
Symptoms like anxiety, depression or a general sense of futility and unhappiness are usually linked to past experiences and therapy can facilitate the frame to safely engage with them so as to transform those emotions. Gaining insight into what is unconsciously driving your thoughts and behaviours can dramatically shift your outlook and the way you respond to life events.
I offer medium and long-term therapy, in once or twice weekly sessions that provide a confidential and supportive framework where you can ask the difficult questions and enter a dialogue with yourself. I work with individuals or couples and offer experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, relationships or self-esteem, but also regularly engage with my patients' more existential or intellectual concerns in search for a more meaningful life.
I have a background in cultural studies and linguistics, which allows me to listen in an open and active way, I have worked as a counsellor for a community centre for people that move from rehabilitation to social and professional re-insertion, and for 10 years I have delivered experiential process groups and psycho-educational programmes with over 600 individuals of different ages and coming from different professional environments, all in search of emotional change and self-awareness. I have trained psychoanalytically to get to the roots of what keeps people entrapped in emotional or relational status-quos but also to locate those resources they need to free themselves and get a sense of their own destiny.
I currently work online with patients from both the UK and Europe and also offer face-to-face sessions in my private practice in Bournemouth and one day a week in London. My average fee is £50/session, but also practice a sliding scale based on session frequency and life circumstances.
