Biodynamic massage therapistAbout Me
Hello! I am a fully qualified Biodynamic Massage Therapist. I listen deeply and respond sensitively to you and your body’s needs through touch.
Biodynamic Massage Therapy is non-invasive. I focus and tune into what is happening in your body, moment by moment and respond through different quality, depth and method of touch. You can stay dressed or you can undress to your level of comfort. We don’t use oil at all. And a unique aspect of the Biodynamic approach is we can listen to your body’s reactions via a stethoscope attached to a little speaker. Recent research describe the gut as our second brain, so the sounds of your body not only provide an added dimension to your therapeutic experience, they can also act as a source of guidance for how to progress within each session.
By focusing and tuning-in to what is happening in your body, you are directly assisted in resting, letting go, unblocking, awakening and becoming stronger. These needs are often held in pockets or regions of our body and it is not unusual for different areas and layers of your body to require different things.
Biodynamic Massage Therapy is particularly well-suited for:
· - stress-related conditions,
· - chronic conditions and illnesses,
· - recovery,
· - post-recovery and
· - persistent, recurring or mysterious health incidents.
Much of what happens in us happens by itself outside of conscious control (although learned behaviours often contribute to unique physiological coping patterns). By attending and responding with care, your body feels reassured and safe, and this feeling often opens up many possibilities for learning and growth beyond simply relieving your symptoms.
From an early age I was a dancer. For me, having a feeling for my body and expressing myself through my body is something innate. Biodynamic Massage Therapy allows me to integrate all the learnings I have accumulated from different facets of my life and to offer something unique to clients in my care. My corporate and organisation consulting experiences enable me to fully understand the impact of highly pressurised and stressful environments on individuals. My training in Gestalt Psychotherapy and clinical experience in counselling increases my capacity to hold a broad range of issues and circumstances. And 20+ years of facilitating personal development has given me a lot of ‘flying hours’ to know that for many of us, our deepest desire is for us to be deeply ‘gotten’. All these experiences are underpinned by a deep sense of compassion and a genuine desire to help alleviate suffering.
After your first session, we will agree an appropriate frequency and number of sessions depending on what you need. Currently I have weekly, fortnightly and monthly clients on an ongoing basis. Biodynamic Massage Therapy works well as a stand-alone therapy and as a complementary therapy.
