PsychologistAbout Me
I am passionate about helping others "be the best they can be" and positive mental health is a significant part of this. My working roles have enabled me to meet with many people who feel they are unable to reach their potential and so they have used therapy in order to manage and overcome feelings of uncertainty and emotional distress and move forward with their lives. Therapy is not only used to explore past experiences but also to enable people in making significant changes to their present and future experiences.
Having previously worked for the NHS (27 years), I enjoy working with those who may have specific diagnoses including, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder and trauma. I have been fortunate to offer this work to individuals, couples, families and groups.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focussed Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I am also an accredited therapist in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), as trauma work is of particular interest to me.
I offer face to face or video sessions depending on individual needs and this can include evening appointments .
