About me

I'm a qualified trauma therapist and lecturer, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Chartered College of Teaching. I work in an ethical, confidential, and evidence-informed way. I bring experience from social work, education, and sexual violence support, including current work as an online support worker for a Rape Crisis Centre. I've recently completed an MA in Trauma Informed Practice. Crucially, I also bring lived understanding of trauma, which means I work with deep empathy, steadiness, and without judgement. I offer online therapy and walk-and-talk sessions in Darlington, including South Park. For many people, walking side by side in nature feels easier than sitting face to face. It softens the pressure, creates space to breathe, and helps difficult conversations come more naturally. For others, the privacy of Zoom feels like the safest place to begin. We'll work out together what feels right for you. Trauma isn't always dramatic or obvious - it often leaves invisible wounds. Trauma-informed therapy recognises how distressing life experiences, whether sudden or prolonged, can shape your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and nervous system responses in the present. You don't have to shock me. You don't have to tidy your story up for me. My role is simply to help you feel safe enough to begin.
