About me
My aim is to provide a space that feels safe, non-judgemental and curious. I am a humanistic counsellor which means that I approach counselling with two things in mind. First, I trust that each person has a sense of what is right for them, a sort of inner compass. Sometimes life piles things on top of it though, so we lose access to it. Part of the work of counselling can be to find our way back to that compass. Second, you are the expert in your own experience, which means that our work is a collaboration. You bring what you know about yourself, I bring what I have learned about psychology and mental health, and together we figure out a way through your questions or difficulties that is uniquely suited to you. I have worked in community counselling services with people from diverse backgrounds. I have experience working with the following: abuse, depression, anxiety, self-criticism and self-image, trauma, realtionship and family issues, neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ issues.
