About me
You may be considering therapy because something in your life feels difficult to carry. Perhaps you are struggling in relationships, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or self-doubt, or noticing patterns that keep repeating and leave you feeling stuck. A central part of my work is creating a space where you feel safe enough to explore your experiences openly. A strong therapeutic relationship can make it easier to talk about difficult feelings, reflect on what you are going through, and begin to make sense of experiences that may previously have felt confusing or overwhelming. My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different ways of working depending on what feels most helpful. Together we may explore how past experiences and present challenges connect, helping you develop greater self-awareness and insight into the patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others. Alongside developing understanding, therapy can also support change. This may involve finding new ways of responding to difficulties, developing practical strategies for managing current challenges, and building the confidence to move forward in ways that feel more meaningful and aligned with who you are. In our sessions, I listen closely to both what is being said and what may be harder to put into words. I engage actively in the process, sharing reflections, noticing recurring themes, or gently inviting you to question assumptions that may no longer feel helpful. Over the years I have worked in a range of counselling and mental health settings. Alongside my private practice, I currently manage a counselling service and provide supervision to therapists. My earlier work includes supporting women in domestic violence services, working with young people in college settings, and tutoring therapists in training. I have worked with people facing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma and the impact of difficult childhood experiences, relationship and family difficulties, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, eating difficulties, bereavement, parenting challenges, and significant life or work transitions. I know how important it is to find a therapist you feel comfortable with and who feels like the right fit. If you would like to get a sense of whether we might work well together, you are welcome to book an introductory call.
