About me

As a warm and nurturing practitioner, I strive to empower children, young people, and adults across all ages. My goal is to help individuals achieve important milestones in their lives. With a nursery nursing and Systemic -family background; as well as extensive experience as a counsellor and family/couple practitioner, I support young people, adults, and families in overcoming emotional challenges and complex dynamics. I tailor counselling techniques to individual and family needs. My experience allows me to work collaboratively with young people and their parents or carers, offering therapy and support designed to build resilience, teamwork, and provide a safe space for expressing difficult emotions, ultimately improving self-esteem and outlook. I have completed training in Person Centred Counselling, learning Carl Rodgers' key conditions: empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence. This approach emphasises present-moment well-being and genuine connection. I went on to earn an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which explores the links between past, present, and future self, utilising theories like attachment and transactional analysis and integrating cognitive techniques for empowerment. My CBT qualification allows me to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns to foster resilience and change. As a qualified Systemic Family Practitioner, I work therapeutically with families to understand emotional dynamics and communication patterns, often using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to address both conscious and unconscious responses rooted in past experiences. In my role as a Relational Counsellor, I assist couples and individuals in identifying harmful patterns and exploring triggers behind relationship difficulties, aiming to improve communication and achieve realistic goals. I am also trained in creative therapy, inviting young people to explore underlying issues such as anxiety, peer challenges, and school resistance, and empowering them with healthy coping strategies. Bereavement is also a key specialism of mine, developed through Coventry CRUSE, where I support individuals through grief at their own pace, often integrating family-focused approaches during illness and loss. A therapeutic relationship ensures clients are heard and supported without judgment. Talking therapy can work to effectively address emotional and mental health issues, as well as provide support during life transitions or crises. Many people feel isolated when facing challenges, but discussing these in a confidential setting can empower personal growth and help explore realistic life choices. Supervision Support - As a qualified Supervisor, I provide guidance and robust supervision for counsellors and staff teams, supporting professional development across services. I provide counselling supervision services, specialising in young people’s (YP) counselling, as well as work-based supervision. My services are available to counsellors, employees, management, and others seeking professional support. My supervision approach is both robust and restorative, ensuring that the supervisee’s narrative and perspective are fully acknowledged and addressed. This process encourages a shift in thinking and promotes practical steps forward, fostering an understanding of alternative scripts and habits, and how these may relate to organisational or service contexts. Supervision aims to clarify ongoing situations and supports reflective practice and self-awareness in supervisees. Ultimately, supervision sessions are designed to empower professionals, enhance their emotional wellbeing, and encourage a healthy work-life balance.
