About me
Well done for getting to here. I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and therapist offering therapy for adults in-person, online or by phone, serving clients across South London. Whatever your concerns, problems, pressures, thoughts or feelings I am here to listen and to support you. Feeling sad, anxious, depressed? People pleasing like mad? Overwhelmed, running on empty and endlessly juggling? On high alert? Caring and tending to the needs of your ageing parents as well managing the needs of your kids and your partner? Always putting others before yourself and deep down inside feeling resentful? Run ragged at work chasing endless deadlines for a demanding boss who never seems satisfied? Others think you have got it all and yet you quite often feel sad and lonely? Things can be better than they are today. After a 25-year career as an English teacher at a local inner-city state secondary school for boys, I understand the vast impact that work pressure and intense scrutiny place on our mental and physical health as well as on our relationships with our children, partners, and parents. After opting for change (scary!) I returned to learning, retrained and now I am fully engaged in my second career as an integrative therapist (MBACP) with my own private practice. I am thoroughly committed to supporting my adult clients. I am here to listen and support you. My priority is to strive to create a sense of safety for you so that you feel comfortable to explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviours. Integrative therapy is flexible and adaptive responding to your needs and the problems, issues and concerns you choose to bring to our sessions. For me, at the heart of integrative therapy is the collaborative relationship between us. You are the expert on you. Often our work may be guided by a combination of attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches. Working together at your pace we explore the feelings and emotions evoked in your mind and body. I value, respect, celebrate, and welcome diversity and difference. I have recent experience volunteering for my local NHS Talking Therapy service. I can help you build self-confidence and acceptance as you navigate everyday adjustments and challenges. If you think I may be the counsellor for you, contact me.
