About me

Well done for getting to here. Feeling sad, anxious, depressed? People pleasing like mad? Overwhelmed, running on empty and endlessly juggling? On high alert? Caring and tending to the needs of your ageing parents as well managing the needs of your children and partner? Always putting others before yourself and feeling resentful? Being hard on yourself? Chasing endless deadlines in a demanding workplace where you increasingly feel like a fish out of water? Missing intimacy? Others think you have got it all and yet you quite often feel lonely and stuck and wish communication was better between you and those you love. Things can be better than they are today. I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor and therapist offering therapy for adults in-person, online or by telephone, supporting adult and older adult clients. Whatever your concerns, problems, pressures, thoughts or feelings I am here to listen and to support you. After a 25-year career as an English teacher at a local inner-city state secondary school, I understand the huge impact that work pressure and intense scrutiny place on our mental and physical health as well as on our relationships with our children, partners, and parents. After opting for change I left teaching, returned to learning, retrained and now I am fully engaged and nourished in my second career as an integrative therapist (MBACP) with my own private practice. For me, integrative therapy is adaptive. At the heart of it is the collaborative relationship between us. You are the expert on you. Often our integrative work may be guided by an attachment-based approach. Working together at your pace we explore the worries, feelings and emotions evoked in your mind and body. If you think I may be the counsellor for you, do contact me for an initial appointment and we will take it from there. I currently have availability for in-person, telephone and online appointments. There is no obligation to book a number of sessions up front. I look forward to hearing from you as you take this first courageous step to restore and renew your well-being. I value, respect, celebrate, and welcome diversity and difference.
