About me

About Me  I am a qualified and accredited counsellor working with individuals online. I support people across a range of issues, primarily specialising in helping those who have experienced trauma and abuse. Providing safe, trauma-informed therapy is my priority. No issue is too small; if it matters to you then it is important. I offer a safe space for you to bring your whole self and will accept you as you are right now. I will listen and honour your perspective. My approach to therapy is rooted in collaboration. I am an integrative therapist, which means I have training in a number of different techniques. I will bring all of those skills to our sessions, and we can use the ones that work best for you at each point in your journey. I provide therapy online via Zoom. I find that online sessions are easier for my clients to fit into their schedules and allow them to access therapy from their own space where they feel secure. It also means that we can work together no matter where you are based.  If you would like to ask any questions, or get an idea of what working together will feel like, I offer a free 20 minute introductory call. The best way to reach me is via email at [email protected]. Alternatively, use the blue ‘book intro call’ button at the top of this page. Who I work with  I work one-to-one with anyone aged 18 and upwards who wants to create meaningful change in their life.  My specialism is in supporting those who have experienced trauma and/or abuse and I am committed to safe, trauma-informed therapy. The effects of trauma can show up in different ways for different people. For example, you may be experiencing: Anxiety Depression Stress Self-criticism and low self-esteem Burnout Relationship issues or struggles with boundaries Feeling stuck or empty I offer neuro-affirming therapy. hold a certificate in working therapeutically with autistic clients and have extensive experience working with clients with varying neurotypes. We can discuss tailoring your therapy to make it more accessible for you if this is something that would help. Am I the right counsellor for you? You may be feeling as though you have tried everything, yet somehow, things are still too difficult. I can support you to begin taking steps in the direction you want.  The idea of feeling good, or even ok, might feel so far away. Especially if you have been feeling this way for some time. I will work with you to establish a feeling of safety and stability in your life. To find a way to cope that feels good for you and is sustainable.  If working in collaboration with your therapist sounds like what you need, I could be the right counsellor for you. I provide a safe space for you to be you, and will support you to find the path that’s right for you. I may make suggestions or offer observations, but I won’t tell you what to do. What will my therapy be like?  There is no one size fits all in therapy. I will adjust your therapy to fit your unique needs.  Generally, in our initial sessions we will work together to make a plan for your therapy. We can discuss how things are now and what you want to change. There is no pressure to talk about anything you don’t want to. We will go at your pace.  The subsequent sessions will be the core of our work together. If things are feeling very difficult in the present, we may begin by finding a sense of safety and stability to create a solid base for any deeper work in the future.  I offer open ended therapy so there is not a limit to the number of sessions you can have. We will review your therapy regularly to make sure that we are going in the right direction for you. I would encourage you to let me know if you feel something isn't working for you, we can adapt on the go to keep you on track with your goals.
