About me
I’m Christian K. Hughes, a BABCP-accredited psychotherapist with 15+ years’ experience helping people with their psychological, emotional, and mental health, difficulties across NHS Complex Treatment Services, as a uniformed military clinician in the British Army, and in private practice. I help adults and couples who are stuck in unworkable patterns but can’t shift—like trauma, mood, anxiety, and relationship difficulties, that lead to distress, burnout, or recurring relationship conflict. My style is straightforward and collaborative. We’ll clarify what actually matters to you, map the processes keeping you stuck (such as avoidance, rigid rules, unworkable coping), and build a plan that you can use between sessions—not just in the therapy room. I draw on evidence-based approaches: CBT for structure, skills and measurable change ACT for values-driven behaviour and psychological flexibility EMDR (including focused intensives) for trauma and stuck memories Couples work that reduces reactivity, rebuilds trust, improves communication and increases connection. What to expect: a thorough assessment, a clear formulation of the problem, tailored to your circumstances, and an agreed pathway to start making changes. You’ll know why we’re doing what we’re doing, how we’ll track progress, and what success looks like. We review regularly and adjust accordingly to keep us on track towards your goals. I apply evidence-based interventions to your individual circumstances - tailoring to your unique requirements. Who I’m a good fit for People who want pragmatic, no-nonsense therapy, that goes beyond listening and validation and works on making changes in your day to day life and relationship Individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, moral injury, or burnout Couples facing gridlocked issues (including ruptures after betrayal) who still want a workable path forward Access I offer in-person sessions in Stourbridge, in the West Midlands, and online across the UK. Rapid access is available: assessment within 7 days where possible, with therapy starting shortly after. If you’re ready for focused work and clear next steps, let’s start with an assessment and make a plan.
