About me

There are numerous reasons why you might be considering counselling and your reason is valid and unique to you.  There might be issues relating to unresolved traumas from the past, or it might be that day-to-day pressures have become challenging or overwhelming and are affecting you.  Whatever your reason, it can be helpful to have a therapist who can work with you to explore your concerns, offering you a deeper understanding of yourself while supporting you during this time in your life. I would like to acknowledge how this process of seeking help might be daunting; especially if you have not previously engaged in counselling, or if you have not yet found the right 'fit' with a counsellor. And I would like to reassure you, as much as possible, that any feelings of anxiety or confusion around choosing a counsellor/therapist, is natural.  Selecting a counsellor or therapist, who is right for you, can be as important as choosing the right pair of shoes; it helps if there is a comfortable ‘fit’ to establish a healthy, therapeutic relationship. How I Work: As a qualified and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work integratively, with each individual clients’ needs at the forefront of the therapeutic work and adhere to the ethical guidelines and standards, as set out by the BACP, which assures clients of a high standard of professional care.  I have worked in varying counselling environments, such as private practice (working with everyday concerns and issues); bereavement and loss; and alcohol and drug rehabilitation. As part of ongoing training and self-development I regularly attend training days and workshops. During the week, I run my private practice from Tonbridge, where there is ample parking; a bus stop; and the location is nearby both the high street and mainline station. I offer daytime and evening counselling  sessions - I would encourage you to contact me for more specific availability; according to your requirements.  I am also offering discounted supervision rates while I complete training to become a qualified supervisor. I provide a welcoming and non-judgmental therapeutic space in which you can explore your concerns, discuss your personal situations and develop at your own pace.  Each of the "things you're going through" are important to you and therefore worth talking about. Asking for help demonstrates strength, courage and respect for oneself.   Thank you for reading my profile.
