About me
My practice is underpinned by psychodynamic and group analytic thinking. This way of working can be helpful for those seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and build more robust resources. I will support you to notice and understand more about yourself, your ways of relating and patterns of behaviour. Through this gradual and unravelling process, change can begin to emerge as you make different choices, develop your resources and find your own way of moving forward to create positive shifts in your life and relationships. You will have a confidential and boundaried space. I will listen and give you time to talk through and explore what's weighing on your mind. At times it can feel difficult to always find the words for our experiences. Through the process of talking and thinking together, words can be found to help you notice, acknowledge and digest your experiences more coherently, which can promote deeper psychological insight, whether in connection to your relationships, self-esteem, identity or need for community and belonging. I have been working therapeutically for over twenty years, initially as a Music Therapist (HCPC registered) and in more recent years as a Psychotherapist/Group Analyst. My experience includes working within NHS adult mental health and adult learning disability services, hospice care and education.
