About me
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and it's no surprise that many clients I've seen have expressed hope for a solution or a quick fix to their problems. Though understandable, the unpredictability of life means that challenges are inevitable. Although I can't promise a quick fix, I can offer you the opportunity to unpack and explore these difficulties and better equip you to manage life's challenges. Therapy can help to illuminate and create new understandings of how historical relationships and events may impact current behavioural patterns, thought processes and relational dynamics. The therapeutic relationship we build can be seen as a means to facilitate the navigation of this process and create positive change. I recognise that each of us is unique and consider each person not in isolation but instead, within the context of their distinct lived experience. This is reflected in my integrative therapeutic approach, which draws together humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural schools of thought. My therapeutic approach is underpinned by the concept that whether it's with ourselves, with others, or the world we live in, we are always in some form of relationship - some of which can harm, while others can heal. In therapy, I attempt to gain an understanding of the world from your perspective and create a space in which you feel secure enough for us to explore and work through whatever may be troubling you. Initial meeting I know first-hand that finding a therapist you're comfortable with can be difficult, so I offer a free, 30-minute initial consultation before starting therapy. This is to allow you the space to determine whether I might be someone you'd like to work with, without any pressure to proceed. This meeting also provides you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and enables me to gain some understanding of your unique needs alongside what hopes and expectations you may hold for therapy.
