About me
A space to breathe at your pace If life feels heavy or confusing, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I offer a steady, down-to-earth space to talk openly, slow things down, and find practical next steps. My approach is warm, respectful, and genuinely inclusive. How I work I’m an integrative counsellor with a person-centred foundation — the relationship comes first and we work at your pace. You are the expert in the room, not me. I also draw on: *Transactional Analysis (TA): to notice repeating patterns, roles and boundaries in relationships. *Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): to build usable tools for day-to-day challenges (sleep, anxiety, worry, avoidance). As a wheelchair user, my lived experience of disability and mental health informs a practice that is accessible and identity-affirming. I bring an intersectional perspective (sociology/gender studies), recognising how context — disability, class, race, sexuality, gender — shapes wellbeing. I work trauma-informed, prioritising safety and pacing. What sessions feel like 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. Expect a calm, collaborative atmosphere: gentle exploration plus practical strategies you can use between sessions. No jargon, no rush, and no pressure to share more than you want to. Clients often report feeling less overwhelmed, clearer, and more equipped between sessions. Online or in-person Most clients see me online for flexibility and privacy. I also offer in-person appointments at my accessible Cheadle Hulme office (weekends; ask for access details). Evening and weekend times are available. Getting started I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether we’re a good fit. If I’m not the right person, I’ll signpost other options. *Whoever you are, you’re welcome here.*
