About me
As an LGBTQAI+ individual, do you feel that you can’t find your own place, or you are unhappy with where you are in your life? Maybe you are feeling misunderstood, unable to connect with others, or simply struggling with the dating scene or the community? Sometimes having a gender/sexual identity comes with pressures to conform to a specific body image, to femininity/masculinity ideals, and with certain sexual expectations that don’t mirror your own preferences or needs. Or perhaps there’s something important about yourself that has been lost? I provide a safe, engaging and supportive space for you to explore any issue that is troubling you. Psychotherapy can help you transform and reinvent yourself, connect and discover yourself, understand and accept yourself. About me I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with a first degree in psychology and a doctorate in existential psychotherapy applied to gender, sexuality and identity issues. My work is informed by existential philosophy, phenomenology, critical thinking (Marxism, psychoanalysis, feminism, queer theory, post-colonialism), artistic movements (surrealism, symbolism, dada), and the inspiration they provide for understanding everyday life struggles. Furthermore, I have both clinical practice and lived experience of queerness, neurodiversity and immigration. Areas of expertise I offer psychotherapy for a wide range of life issues including anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, relationship and family issues, loneliness and low self-esteem. I have a special interest in working with identity, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, and the intersectionality of such categories with social class, race/ethnicity, disability and immigration. I welcome working with all forms of difference. I am quite open and easy to talk to, and I think I do well with people who are nervous about coming to therapy, who find it hard to open up or who have unusual issues that cause them shame. If you are ready for deeper understanding and change, I invite you to get in touch.
