About me

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with four years’ experience, working with clients from diverse backgrounds, during those four years I have had the opportunity of providing therapy to clients as a trainee and as a qualified psychotherapist. I have clients who have experienced a range of different trauma in the following areas Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, trauma associated with early childhood abuse, stress, depression, addiction, relationship issues and complex family dynamics, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, and other disorders. My practice involves collaborating with clients to build a trusting relationship, which will provide the conditions for them to explore and grow in the directions they choose. As an integrative psychotherapist I can use different models, styles, and creativity with clients. For some clients therapy may be an opportunity for them to gain an awareness / curiosity of what is happening for them and why they experience an overwhelmingness that they are unable to understand. I have worked for a local authority as a social worker and a team manager supporting vulnerable children and families, working for over thirty-three years in this area, so have a good understanding of trauma and the impact this can have on individuals and families in terms of their I am a Christian and have been a woman of faith since my early teens. I provide therapy to those with and without faith. I have seen the complexity when people of faith grapple with accessing therapy. It is understandable that accessing therapy evokes questions and anxiety. I am drawn by this quote “The new bud of the real self cannot exist for very long without the sustenance provided by a welcoming other” (Winnicott, 1970)
