About me
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist I aim to provide a place of safety where we can explore your difficult feelings and emotions together without judgment, and in confidence. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is based on the idea that we are all unconsciously influenced by our past. Difficult or painful early experiences can create patterns of behaviour in later life that can negatively affect the way we relate to others, and impair our ability to cope with life’s ups and downs. We may notice repeating patterns in our behaviour that may be distressing, and seem out of our control. We can find ourselves feeling depressed, anxious, numb, or just at a loss to understand ourselves. In therapy I work closely with you to become more aware of these patterns and explore how they may have been established, within a framework designed to foster independence and self-compassion. The therapeutic relationship can hopefully become a safe testing ground for finding healthier and more satisfying ways of being, and relating to others. I work one to one with adults (aged 18+). As everyone is unique, I don't list any specialisms. I believe that whatever you bring, we can think about together. I see patients once or twice weekly either face to face in Deal and Margate or online, usually on Zoom. I adhere to the strict ethical guidelines of my profession as laid out by FCP, UKCP and BACP
