About me
Something is making you consider having some therapy, and exploring who might be the right therapist for you is an important part of this - thank you for looking at my page! I work in a relational way where we examine together whatever is going on for you in your life - I cannot be an expert on your life but I can work with you and with my experience, to try and make meaning of things. I believe that relationships are so important in every aspect of life, in every sense, and part of our work is bound to look back to find out more about your patterns of relating - from early family life to where you are now. The context of you in your world is hugely important - our individual circumstances make a difference to how we feel. Perhaps there are life changes, bereavements, work pressures which you would like to talk about - having a therapeutic, non-judgemental space to come to once a week on a regular basis aims to support whatever else is going on. My background is in the arts - I am a professionally trained violinist, but I then worked in broadcasting and journalism. I have experience of the financial industry and the pressures that a competitive and ambitious job brings, and I'm happy to work with issues around work stress, career choice and burnout. I have also helped support many teachers as part of my work. There is no 'typical client' but it is always important that the therapeutic relationship is a good, workable one. I bring my own personal experience of bereavements, complex family life and parenting, and I have a growing interest in supporting men's mental health. I'm happy to offer a short introductory call where we can explore if we would like to work together, before arranging weekly 50 minute sessions. I charge £70 per session.
