About me

Hi, I’m Azica - a qualified Art Psychotherapist and Social Worker, with over 20 years’ experience across Social Care, the NHS, and private practice. . SOCIAL CARE & NHS: My background includes working in Child Protection, Fostering, CAMHS, Eating Disorders and Adult Mental Health Services, where I’ve supported children, young people, adults, and families through complex emotional and relational challenges in varying stages of life. Within the NHS, I’ve worked with individuals and families facing anxiety, depression, low mood, emotional dysregulation, eating disorders and difficulties, trauma, attachment difficulties as well as intergenerational trauma. . FOSTERING WITHIN A FAMILY SETTING: Growing up in a family who fostered children for many years, gave me early insight into attachment difficulties and importance of secure relationships and a safe environment. That experience, combined with working within care systems, shaped my understanding of attachment, trauma, resilience, and the power of safe, nurturing relationships. . PRIVATE PRACTICE: In my private practice, I support adoptive and special guardian (SGO) carers through therapeutic parenting groups and individual therapy. Our work focuses on understanding attachment patterns, strengthening relationships, and building emotional safety within the home. . Across all settings, I’ve seen how shifts, changes, healing and growth begins when a person feels safe, experiences empathy, and feels seen and heard through the use of curiosity, conversation and creativity. . HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOU; I offer a warm, honest and open space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. My approach blends person-centred and psychodynamic approaches as well as draws upon relational, systemic, trauma-informed and DBT informed practice. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, develop strategies to manage overwhelming feelings, and support your journey toward greater self-understanding and emotional balance. However your story has unfolded so far, we can gently unpick, understand and move forward together.
