About me
I work with couples, individuals and people in other relationship structures. I support people build better communication, improved intimacy and deeper connection. If you’re in a relationship - of any kind - you want to make sure it’s what you are each looking for. It’s good to have a space to talk through any underlying problems, bring them to the surface, and resolve them with compassion and no judgement. You don’t want a couples counsellor who’s going to take one side over the other. And you definitely don’t want someone who’s going to impose their ideas of what a ‘normal’ relationship. I also have a certificate in Psychosexual Therapy and I'm currently working towards an MSc in Contemporary Psychosexual Therapy, so I believe that talking about sex should be a normal part of life. But it often isn’t, and so people keep quiet about issues such as erectile dysfunction, compulsive sexual behaviours, and loss of desire. It doesn’t have to be that way. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, with me you can work through any issues around sex or intimacy. For people in relationships, it may not be a sexual problem that’s stopping you from being intimate. Perhaps there’s been a big change like a baby or a new job. Or maybe things haven’t felt 100% right for a while. I also work one-to-one. As well as being a psychosexual therapist and relationship counsellor, I also help individuals manage feelings of anxiety, depression and stress. Additionally, I work with them to process the fallout after a big life change, such as bereavement, career loss, or relationship breakup. You can bring whatever you like to our sessions. You can be angry, sad, uncommunicative – nothing you say will upset or disturb me. What I will do is deeply listen and empathise. I’m intuitive – so I’ll ask the right questions at the right time – and compassionate. Mostly, I want you to feel safe with me. You might not realise it now, but you’ve already got your answers. Yet there’s so much getting in the way, it’s hard to know where to begin. A real change for the better might seem a long journey, but it’s so worth the effort. - I’ll help you clear the weeds, and uncover your best route forwards. - You’ll understand yourself (and your partner) with deep compassion. - You’ll learn how to communicate clearly and lovingly, avoiding judgement. - You’ll set healthy boundaries and feel good about keeping them. As we work together, you’ll have the weekly support you need. And when we’re done, you’ll have the tools to retain that support, whatever life throws at you.
