About me
I provide integrative therapy which means that I adapt my approach to suit your needs. I don't believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy, you are a unique individual and that means that your therapy experience should be tailored to suit your needs. My work is based on person centred theory and I then integrate other therapies on top of this to provide a holistic approach. Giving you both space and time to explore how you're feeling and to figure out why you are feeling this way, and to then also provide you with coping mechanisms so that you can feel empowered to be able to manage whatever symptoms are causing you difficulties. I started providing therapy in 2010 and after initially providing working part time, I decided to move into this rewarding career full time in 2014 and have been working full time ever since 2014. During the pandemic - like the majority of people, I had to work online in order to be able to still support my clients and since then, I have found that online work has become increasingly popular. As such, I now provide all of my sessions online and this has afforded me even more flexibility for sessions. Likewise, this does mean that for you, you don't have to factor in travel time, navigating to a new place or feeling outside of your comfort zone even more than you may already. You can access therapy from the comfort of your own home, in familiar surroundings and this can help you to feel more at ease. I believe that you're the expert in your life, you're bringing all of the information that we need in order for you to reap the rewards of therapy, its down to me to help you to unlock the answers and explanations that you have been looking for. I have years of experience of working with clients, I am an accredited member with BACP (which means that my work has been reviewed by my peers to verify that I work not only to the professional standard, but beyond these as a practitioner), meaning that you can be assured that you are being provided with a safe and professional service. I have experience of working with abuse; anxiety; addictions; bereavement; childhood trauma; chronic illnesses; depression; divorce; domestic abuse; familial estrangement; identity crises; isolation; loneliness; PTSD; self esteem; stress; sleep issues; suicidal thoughts along with many other issues. There are very few things that I haven't come across or experienced during my time as a therapist, if you're unsure whether or not I can help with what you're experiencing, please reach out and ask. If I don't think that I am the right therapist for you, I may be able ti guide you in the right direction in terms of which approach I think might suit you better.
