About me
Hello, I’m Carol, a qualified counsellor offering a warm, non-judgmental space for you to explore your experiences, emotions, and identity. I specialise in supporting individuals navigating trauma, domestic abuse, menopause, and neurodivergence—particularly those who have received a late diagnosis of conditions such as autism or ADHD. My person-centred approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your unique journey. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unsure of where to begin, I’m here to walk alongside you as you make sense of your story and reclaim your strength. I also offer the Rewind Technique—a gentle, non-intrusive therapy that can help reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories without requiring you to retell or relive the experience in detail. This approach is particularly helpful for those living with PTSD or flashbacks, as it allows the brain to reprocess distressing memories in a way that feels safe and contained. Many clients find it empowering and effective in restoring a sense of calm and control. My Specialisms Trauma & Domestic Abuse Trauma can leave deep emotional imprints, affecting how we relate to ourselves and others. I work sensitively with clients who have experienced domestic abuse—whether physical, emotional, psychological, or financial—helping them rebuild safety, trust, and self-worth. Together, we can gently unpack the impact of trauma and move toward healing at your pace. Menopause & Midlife Transitions Menopause is more than a physical change—it can bring emotional upheaval, identity shifts, and a sense of loss or confusion. I offer a space to explore these transitions, validate your experience, and reconnect with your inner resilience. Whether you're facing anxiety, low mood, or relationship challenges during this time, you're not alone. Neurodivergence & Late Diagnosis Receiving a diagnosis later in life—such as autism or ADHD—can be both enlightening and disorientating. You may be re-evaluating past experiences, relationships, or your sense of self. I provide neuro-affirming support to help you process this shift, explore your identity, and develop strategies that honour your unique way of being in the world. How I Work I offer integrative counselling, drawing from person-centred, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming approaches. Sessions are tailored to your goals or simply space to talk and be heard. I work with adults (18+) and offer both in-person and online sessions. Next Steps Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and it’s important to find someone you feel safe with. If you’d like to explore working together, I offer a free initial consultation where we can talk about what you’re looking for and how I can support you. You deserve to be seen, heard, and understood—just as you are. Testimonial I started to visit Carol in a period in my life when I was suffering from some triggers that had happened due to some family revelations. These made me feel overwhelmed with my thoughts and took me to a place I had completely shut out regarding my father. After speaking with Carol over time about this time in my childhood she gave me more clarity on the reasons why my father behaved as he did and made me realise it was his behaviour that causes me to struggle at times in my life with my own fears and feelings such as fear of authority and scared of failing or making mistakes. Talking about these feelings and being listened to was very beneficial to me and helped me to understand that I was a child in all this. Carol has also helped me with my ongoing struggles with menopause and how it is affecting my life and work. She made me realise how important it is to put my health & wellbeing first and foremost and to be less hard on myself. She also explained how as a woman it's best to deal with the symptoms I am suffering from and to give myself the time I need and to also accept the changes I am going through. I feel that I am in a better place mentally after having my sessions with Carol and I wouldn't hesitate to book in with her again in the future.
