About me
Have you been struggling with something which is interfering with you being able to get on with your usual things? Maybe you have been feeling down more than usual, or feeling very anxious and tired for a long time. Changes in your ability to sleep, eat or concentrate for a while could mean that you are depressed, or that anxiety is overwhelming you and stopping you from functioning properly. Life events such as illness, bereavement, divorce, trauma or even great events like becoming a parent or grandparent can create changes that are hard to cope with. If so, a therapist can help you to get back on your feet again. I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years experience in the NHS and private practice. I am highly skilled in CBT and I specialise in the areas of chronic pain and OCD. I also help clients with a diverse range of problems from depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and relationship problems. I offer 1:1 sessions both remotely and face to face. During my career I have worked with older adults, assessing people with dementia, memory problems, helping people to recover from strokes and cardiac problems. I have extensive experience working with carers who are caring for family members as well as staff caring for patients. I have worked in a pain clinic for many years as part of a multi disciplinary team, providing therapy for people with many chronic pain conditions and running therapeutic groups to help people manage their condition, improve their self confidence and increase their daily functioning. I also offer supervision to other therapists It takes courage to make the first step to contact someone. I would love to help! Everyone has a free phone consultation to chat about your needs. All therapy is individually tailored to your problems, so that the therapy suits you, not vice versa! Feel free to get in touch, even if you are not sure exactly what help you are looking for.
