About me

My name is Aimee and I am a fully qualified and insured Person-Centred Counsellor (FdSc, BSc). I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and strongly believe in their code of ethics. I embrace a warm, open, empathetic and non-judgmental attitude building a trusting therapeutic relationship that promotes the potential for growth and change. I respect and value each persons individuality and offer a confidential, calm and safe space in which you are empowered to explore your own feelings and emotions. Working together through anything that is troubling you, leading to therapeutic change, with a goal to moving towards a more positive future and self-understanding. I have experience in working in a variety of different areas including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, family issues, addiction, trauma, eating disorders, bereavement and am also particularly experienced in working within neuro-diversity.  As well as being passionate and committed to my private counselling practice, I am also passionate about the work that I do for a gambling charity Breakeven and the Probation Services. I am committed to continuing my professional development, regularly attending CPD courses and training workshops, consistently broadening my knowledge and understanding. I offer face-to-face counselling as well as online and telephone counselling. I also offer walk and talk counselling, if this is something that you feel more comfortable doing. I am here to talk should you have any questions regarding my approach to counselling or to discuss whether I am the right counsellor for you so please do not hesitate to contact me.
