Michael SwalesIntegrative therapist
I offer a confidential and safe environment, committed to creating a non-judgmental atmosphere where your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. I recognize the significance of confidentiality in building trust and fostering a sense of security. Rest assured that anything you share with me will be handled with the utmost respect and discretion.
My approach is caring and compassionate, aiming to empower you to explore your feelings, gain insights into your experiences, and discover new perspectives. Together, we can navigate the complexities of your situation, identify strengths and areas for growth, and work towards developing strategies that will help you overcome challenges and achieve personal growth.
With a deep understanding of the transformative nature of therapy, I provide a supportive and trustworthy space. Throughout our therapeutic journey, you can expect to be met with empathy, compassion, and a profound commitment to your well-being. Your unique needs, goals, and aspirations will always be at the forefront of our sessions, as we work collaboratively towards your desired outcomes.
Through my own engagement with therapy, I came to understand and manage the pressures that arise from a demanding lifestyle. This transformative process led me to pursue training and establish my practice in this field, enabling me to provide the support that I gained so much from.
In my integrative approach, I draw upon various theories, including Gestalt, Person-Centred, Transpersonal, and Psychodynamic, placing a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and our connection. I firmly believe that trust is the foundation for successful therapy, allowing for awareness, healing, and transformation to take place. Additionally, as a CCAR® Recovery Coach Professional and Supervisor, I specialize in addressing the barriers and obstacles that hinder addiction recovery, serving as a personal guide and mentor.
Having worked within the NHS and with young adults in residential treatment, I have experience in offering outcome-focused, time-limited therapy and supporting individuals in their recovery from addictive behaviours.
As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical guidelines, ensuring the highest standard of care. I work with individuals and couples across various locations in London, both in-person and online, to accommodate your needs.
Together, we will create a therapeutic space where you can explore, grow, and achieve the change you desire.
