I am the creator of Novel Insights - www.novelinsights.co.uk - a platform where I share short, thought-provoking excerpts from novels I've read, linking them with concepts from the world of psychotherapy. If you, too, are curious about the human condition I hope you find them interesting! My love of novels has much in common with my love of being a therapist. They both involve a deep and abiding curiosity about what it is to be human. I believe we carry our own, unique, stories around with us: narratives designed to try and make sense of our lives and better understand our world. Exploring these narratives is where the treasure lies because the more clearly we understand ourselves, the better equipped we are to identify, and let go, of unhelpful narratives. This can clear the way for a more authentic, congruent narrative to emerge and, with it, new ways forward. There is no one, simple, route through all this because each therapist/client relationship is unique.
