Free Online CPD for Welldoing Members
Welldoing members can access free certificated online CPD at our weekly Lunch and Learn sessions
- Expert therapists and authors are interviewed for the first 30 minutes, then attendees can join the Q and A for the second half of the session
- All sessions start at 1pm and finish by 2pm. Pre-booking is essential to enter the Zoom call.
- Sessions are held on Wednesday or Thursdays at the same time
- Certificates for individual sessions are available for each session
- Currently recordings of the sessions are not available, though this will be possible in 2024
How to book
To attend any upcoming events for free, you must be a Welldoing member, either a therapist or coach. All the details about joining can be found here.
Members can email [email protected] with the date of the session in the subject line. You will be sent a Zoom link to the event on the morning of the session.
If you are a therapist, but not a member of Welldoing, you can now buy a ticket to individual Lunch and Learn sessions through Eventbrite. You will be asked to provide us with proof of your professional membership (eg BACP, UKCP, NCPS, etc) and you will receive a certificate if you attend.

Thursday April 18 at 1pm: Attachment Therapy and couples
with therapist and author of Secure Love, Julie Menanno. Couples therapist and instagram star @thesecurerelationship (1.2 million followers), Menanno focuses on helping couples adjust to each others attachment style.
Wednesday April 24 at 1pm: How changing climate is changing our minds, brains, bodies
with neuroscientist and environmental writer Clayton Page Aldern. Author of The Weight of Nature: How a Changing Climate Changes our Minds, Brains and Bodies Aldern has spent seven years talking to those at the intersections of environmental science, psychology and neuroscience to synthesize a new, interdisciplinary approach to a novel field — the neuroscience of climate change.
Wednesday May 1 at 1pm: Understanding the dangers and potential of nostalgia
with academic and author Dr Agnes Arnold-Forster. Author of Nostalgia: a history of a dangerous emotion Arnold-Forster melds psychology, neuroscience and the history of medicine to examine this complex, slippery emotion. Understanding our nostalgic feelings may help us with the changing pace of society, feelings of regret, dislocation and belonging, and the politics of fear and anxiety.
Wednesday May 8 at 1pm: Develop your co-regulation skills for a transformative client experience
with biodynamic massage therapist, somatic performance coach and Welldoing member Shaun Brooking.
Wednesday May 15 at 1pm: Helping clients cope with trauma
with clinical psychologist and EMDR consultant Dr Yvonne Waft, who works mainly with people with complex trauma presentations and supports other professionals in their work with trauma through teaching, training and clinical supervision. As a disabled woman, Yvonne also has a special interest in disability issues and regularly teaches on disability in the therapy space.
Thursday May 23 at 1pm: Ozempic and weight loss: the benefits and risks
with journalist, speaker and author Johann Hari whose latest book is Magic Pill: the extraordinary benefits and disturbing risks of the new weight-loss drugs. Hari is the acclaimed author of Lost Connections on depression and Stolen Focus on attention disorders and Chasing the Scream on addiction.

with therapist and author of The Secret of Lives of Men, James Hawes. More men of all types are entering therapy, as men face up to issues such as anger, sadness, loss and loneliness.
Thursday April 4 at 1pm: Understanding the Experience of Infertility
with journalist Kat Brown who has gathered 22 stories from women, men, and genderqueer people who have experienced a spectrum of infertility in her new book No one Talks About This Stuff. She has written about her own infertility and adult ADHD diagnosis.
Thursday March 14 at 1pm: Talking about the UKCP and how it helps its members
with the new CEO of the UK Council of Psychotherapy, Jon Levett. At a time of much change in the world of therapy, Louise Chunn will be speaking to Jon Levett about the position of the UKCP and its plans for the future. He has a great deal of experience in professionals associations and was previously chief executive of the Institute of Psychoanalysis.
Thursday March 7: What Young Women Really Feel About Using Social Media
with City University sociology professor, Rosalind Gill, whose book Perfect: Feeling Judged on Social Media reveals the pernicious effect of social media on young women's sense of themselves, the way they look (from make-up and hair, to weight and sexual desirability) and ultimately their mental health.
Wednesday February 28: Working with clients around infidelity
with author, broadcaster and psychotherapist Lucy Beresford. She has previously done a TED talk called Infidelity: should I stay or go ...? and is a regular radio guest and presenter.
Wednesday February 21: Helping your clients think more clearly about money
with Welldoing psychotherapist Vicky Reynal, who works in private practice with people whose presenting problem is money-related. She is the author of upcoming book Money on your Mind.
Thursday February 15: The changing experience of the "sandwich generation"
with Welldoing therapist Annette Byford, author of Once a Mother and A Wedding in the Family. The discussion will focus on mid-life parents whose lives are split between teenage and older children still needing their attention, and their parents nearing the end of their lives
Thursday February 1 at 1pm: Understanding how nutrition affects mental health
with Jane Edwards, an integrative psychotherapist & supervisor with a functional nutrition counsellor diploma from Functional Nutrition Alliance, USA. She co-facilitates ‘Circle of Soup’ workshops, which aim to bring people together to cook creatively while learning how a plant-rich diet can positively impact both mental & physical health. She will be talking to Welldoing therapist and author of Everyone's a Critic, Julia Bueno.
Wednesday January 24 at 1pm: What therapists should know about fatigue and burnout
with professor of applied health psychology at the University of Northumbria, Vincent Deary, author of upcoming title, How We Break: Navigating the Wear and Tear of Living. Vincent's book focuses on the stresses of everyday life. Before he dedicated himself to academia he was a CBT therapist.
Thursday January 18 at 1pm: Neurodiversity in the consulting room
with speech and language therapist Clare Ward who has a special interest in autism in adults and children. She has added BPS therapy qualifications and now works transdiagnostically, using an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy perspective. She is a founder member of Special Networks, a multidisciplinary and neuroaffimative therapy, training, research and consultancy team.

with Welldoing psychologist Louise Styles, who is based in Devon.She is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and has a strong interest in working with people in diverse relationships.
