The unfolding coronavirus pandemic has had a huge effect on the everyday life of all of us. Here in the UK we have NHS staff dealing with an increasingly critical situation often in dangerous circumstances, while throughout the country people of all ages are worrying about what the future will hold for them.

Health risks, job losses, economic uncertainty are the sorts of worries that therapists deal with every day; these are just some of the issues that clients want to talk to their therapist about. But the coronavirus has brought everything at once and there are signs that many people are struggling with their mental health as a result.

Welldoing is a therapist-matching platform, and spurred on by our members, we have created a group of therapists and counsellors who are willing to offer free online therapy sessions to NHS workers through the UK. The terms of the offer — how many sessions, how many clients they will make the offer to – are entirely individual, and should be discussed with the therapist before treatment is started.

How to find your therapist

You can find the therapist who is best-suited to your needs among the WELLDOING NHS OFFER members here. To request a session, click on Contact and send them a message. You should be prepared to prove your current NHS status. Also, we cannot guarantee that every NHS client will be able to be seen immediately.

Our therapists are also mindful that many people want therapy but are worried about the cost at a time when their income has been affected by the lockdown. For this reason, our members have formed another group, which will offer discounted online therapy sessions to new clients. The terms of the offer — the level of discount, how many sessions it would last for– is entirely individual, and should be discussed with the therapist before treatment begins.

You can find the therapist who is best-suited to your needs among the WELLDOING DISCOUNTED ONLINE OFFER here. To request a session, click on Contact and send them a message. They will  book you in for a session and you will be sent a confirmation by email.

Therapists themselves are dealing with the same uncertainty as the rest of the world, but their training and experience gives them great resources for helping others. We are very proud that our members needed little encouragement to join this initiative, and would like to thank them all for their generosity and community spirit.

If you have any comments about either of these offers, please get in touch via [email protected].
