“It is with our mind that we create our world." That's the philosophy that underpins The Restful Mind, a new book by His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa that aims to show readers how to “open it up and let the world in."

Dokhampa has earned an international reputation for making the life-changing parts of Buddhist thought approachable and easy to understand. In the introduction to this book he makes the case that there are so many things in the world that we can't control and they are usually the things that get us down, why not forget about them and focus on the things we can, one of which happens to be our minds, our gateway to the rest of the world.

Our minds dictate our actions and they also process the senses, letting us experience the world. Get them in order and we're in charge of not just how we act but also how the world affects us.

With practical advice on how and why to meditate, daily breathing and the art of letting go, His Eminence shows how we can break out of bad ways of thinking and put our minds to work living the kind of lives we want to.

His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa will be giving a public talk and book signing on Friday 10th January 2015.
