Sharon Winsley
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
Sometimes it can feel like life is getting on top of us and that some 'time out' is required to explore the way that we are feeling, this is so that we can gain some balance and perspective back into our lives. My name is Sharon and I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor, committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I have experience working as an addiction therapist in a rehab. I gained experience working with clients struggling with many forms of addiction including sex, alcohol, recreational drugs, prescribed medication and gambling. Whilst working in addiction I helped people with self-harm, anxiety, BPD, depression, suicide ideation, PTSD, abuse, relationships, grief and loss.
Whilst working here I took individual one to one sessions, group therapy and workshops.
Moreover, I also have twenty years of knowledge of Alcoholics Anonymous and a great understanding of the twelve-step programme that can be applied and adapted to all addictions.
I believe that addiction is possible to overcome with the correct help and guidance.
Additionally, I have undertaken bereavement training within a hospice in North Essex where I also volunteered for one year.

Fees
The cost is £20 the initial assessment session. Here we talk about any problems that you are facing or that are causing you any kind of distress, this is so that I can gain an understanding of your background. It is also an opportunity to find out what you would possibly like to gain from having therapy and for you to ask any questions that you may have.Following the initial session and should you wish to continue, I will then offer you six consecutive sessions. These will each cost £55 The counselling sessions will be on a weekly basis and each session will last for fifty minutes. Should further counselling then be required following the six therapy sessions, we can continue to work together on an open ended basis.Reduced fees are available for those who are unemployed or those who are students, which can be discussed at the initial assessment session.
