Marek Sarnecki
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
My name is Marek, and I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and Sex and Relationship therapist practicing in both private settings and within Higher Education institutions.
Specialising in a range of areas, I focus on supporting individuals and couples through various challenges. In addition to my expertise in depression and loss, managing life transitions, and addressing issues stemming from childhood, I am particularly passionate about delving into sexuality and sexual identity matters, as well as nurturing relationship intimacy.
With a dedicated focus on working with couples, I have honed my skills in navigating the intricacies of relationships. My specialisation extends to helping couples navigate through issues surrounding intimacy, communication breakdowns, and rebuilding trust. I understand the complexities that arise within relationships and provide a safe space for couples to explore their concerns and strengthen their connection.
My experience includes extensive work with the LGBTQ+ community, where I offer support tailored to their unique challenges. From assisting individuals with coming out experiences to addressing internalised homophobia and self-esteem issues, I am committed to providing affirming and inclusive care that acknowledges the diverse experiences within this community.
I offer both short-term counselling and long-term psychotherapy, adapting my approach to suit the individual needs and goals of my clients. Whether it's processing past traumas, exploring identity concerns, or enhancing relationship dynamics, I am dedicated to facilitating meaningful therapeutic change.
In my therapeutic approach, I provide a non-judgmental and empathetic environment where clients can openly share their concerns, fears, and thoughts. My goal is to assist individuals and couples in understanding and resolving the underlying issues contributing to their emotional distress, fostering healing and growth.
I am driven by a genuine passion for facilitating transformative change and am committed to helping my clients navigate their journey towards greater self-awareness and fulfilment. Together, we can work towards breaking the cycle of repeating patterns and paving the way for a more fulfilling and authentic life.
Please note that my pronouns are he/him/his, and I strive to create an inclusive and affirming space for all individuals.
