Lucy Dows
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
As human beings living in a fast paced modern world we need to learn to press pause. We can often find ourselves feeling anxious and overwhelmed as we desperately try to keep pace. Our senses are becoming increasingly overloaded with external stimuli and our internal world is often the first to suffer the consequences. Together we'll look at coping strategies and tackle the question of how you can achieve a more peaceful and purposeful existence through living in better health, balance and happiness.
I have experience working with a range of emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties. Perhaps you're in a cycle of behaviour or a negative thought pattern that you'd like to change but don't know how. It's also possible that you don’t know what's bothering you but you have a general sense of something being ‘off.’ Together we can explore what’s going on beneath the surface. I believe that therapy provides a useful reflective space to begin to untangle what you’re feeling.
My core training is integrative and draws upon all schools of psychology. I'll act as a sounding board for you to observe and explore your mind in a way that allows you to play with new ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
I draw from a wide range of therapeutic techniques to suit the individual needs of my clients. You will be able to internalise these techniques as tools and implement them between sessions and long after your therapy has ended in order to maintain positive change.
