About Me

Hello, I’m Hermione. In our therapeutic relationship, I will provide a space which is free from judgement but full of possibility, where you can explore the anxiety, difficulty, pain or sadness which brings you here. You will be able to talk about whatever is on your mind, with someone who is there purely to listen to you and be with you as you find your own way forward.

I am open to working with all kinds of people. Issues I can help with include (but are not limited to)

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Feelings of ‘stuckness’

I have particular experience of working with younger people (18-25), having worked in universities as a music education lecturer and volunteered in a university counselling service. I am also well equipped to work with musicians, performers, and those working in the creative industries. I offer discounted sessions to those in full time education.

How I work

I am trained in both integrative and existential therapy, and the way I work with my clients is responsive to what you need. I aim to work alongside you to understand how you are experiencing your day-to-day life, in the context of what has happened to you in the past and the choices you would like to make about the future. Existential therapy encourages us to put the feelings we have about our lives into words and to understand the meaning of the thoughts, feelings, behaviours or symptoms you are experiencing. It can help with both immediate issues or challenges you are facing, and making sense of longer-term questions that have been troubling you over time.

Sessions with me

I am currently offering in person sessions in Totnes, as well as online sessions for clients from anywhere in the UK.

Please contact me to arrange an initial session - you can also arrange a free 20 minute Zoom or phone consultation if you have questions prior to starting therapy. From then you can decide to work shorter or longer term; my standard offer is weekly sessions but fortnightly work is also possible if this suits you better. Sessions will usually be at the same regular time, with some flexibility to fit around busy lives if necessary.
