Jack Jacobs is a life coach in South East London and online

What attracted you to become a coach?

In February 2012, I was at death's door. I lost connection with myself, others and the world around me. I destroyed my relationship with food, exercise, my body and ultimately myself.

After years of exploration, discovery and transformation, I managed to flip the switch, draw a line and reprogram myself. We have the resources within us, and around us, to maintain, improve and sustain our emotional health, to thrive, and unleash our potential.

I’m passionate about empowering the next generation to build the self-awareness, skills and tools to develop, grow and thrive so they can be the leaders of their bodies and minds.

Where did you train?

I initially trained with the MOE Foundation and have gone on to train with the Animas Centre for Coaching and the Physical Intelligence Institute.

I am planning to train with the Human Givens College soon.

What kind of coaching do you offer?

I create and facilitate safe, collaborative and powerful spaces where children, teens and young adults can build the self-awareness, skills and tools to develop, grow and thrive. I empower the next generation to go deeper and connect with themselves, the people in their lives and the world around them. I take them on an explorative journey, discovering values, beliefs, patterns and valuable insights about how they feel, think and behave. I help them take these observations and insights and turn them into actionable steps to create change and transformation in their lives. Ultimately, I empower the next generation to connect the dots and move forward purposefully with motivation, confidence and resilience.

How does coaching help young people?

If you’re a parent or guardian and your child is lacking confidence or feeling demotivated, I can help them reignite the fire and empower them to move forward purposefully with motivation, confidence and resilience.

What sort of coaching clients do you usually see?

I coach teens and young adults, 11-25 year olds.

I'm also offering something fun for families to get involved in – 30-45 minute Physically Intelligent coaching sessions – where I teach families about the chemistry of their body and facilitate exercises and techniques that they can use to shift their state immediately.

I'm running free 15 minute taster sessions for anyone who is interested: https://calendly.com/jackjacobs/pi-taster-session

What do you like about being a coach?

I love seeing young people unleash their potential and thrive. Making this impact is what drives me.

What is less pleasant?

I know this will sound cliché but, honestly, nothing! I love what I do.

What is one life lesson you try to live by?

Keep it simple.

Learn about yourself, others and the world around you.

Find balance.

What do you wish people knew about coaching?

We can move, as well as talk.

I facilitate coaching sessions with physical intelligence (PI) where we breathe and move to change the chemistry of the body.

Do you have a favourite client testimonial or particular success story?

I’ve worked with hundreds of young people in one-to-one and group formats, and I can’t say I have a favourite but here are two that I am very proud of:

“My daughter has been working with Jack for a number of months to help her overcome her anxiety and help her focus with her schooling. Jack has done wonders and she is like a different child. She has a positive attitude in life and is not afraid to tackle anything new or push herself beyond her comfort zone, something she would not have done previously. Earlier in the year we were so worried about her returning to school having been off for so long but she has gone back to school with a whole new mentality. She is doing so well and remains focused and constantly strives to meet her personal goals. We cannot recommend Jack highly enough, he has a calming manner and approaches topics in a way that is not intimidating to the child. He listened and helped our daughter come up with a reasonable solution to the issues she had.” – Parent of teen

“Jack continues to be an invaluable asset in supporting my 11-year-old son through a tough time in his life. Jack is such a positive light and after every session with Jack, my son's feelings of hopelessness and anxiety are replaced with boundless positivity and enthusiasm. Jack has taught him so many valuable lessons on how to reduce his anxiety and stress levels, focusing on constructive, optimistic achievable goals he can feel proud of. I can not think of a more inspiring and self affirming individual as Jack to mentor my son. Everyone deserves a Jack in their life!” – Parent of teen
