About me
You may be here because something feels stuck, heavy, or unclear — perhaps old wounds keep resurfacing, or you’ve lost confidence, direction, or a sense of who you are. Maybe you’re navigating the impact of trauma, feeling disconnected from your roots, or simply longing for a space to breathe and be heard. Whatever brought you here, you’re not alone — and change is possible. How I Work My approach draws on art therapy, trauma-informed practice, and person-centred values — offering a space where words aren’t always necessary, and healing can unfold through image, metaphor, and meaning. At the heart of my work is a warm, non-judgemental presence and a belief that you are the expert of your life — you already hold all the resources to navigate life’s terrain and you may just need some help to connect to them. I will work collaboratively with you. I will listen carefully to what you have to say and help you communicate the things you can’t put into words. We will work together to discover some of the root causes of your problems and the strategies to help you live a more fulfilling life. I can help you explore your patterns of relating to others and work through the areas in your life that may feel inhibited or stuck. I am holistic in my approach, laying equal importance to all aspects of the individual: cognitive, physical, social, biological, and economical. I am an integrative psychotherapist – this means I work creatively and I have different perspectives and theories to draw on when working with you. I can adapt my approach to suit your changing needs, offering you a bespoke experience. I may invite you to work creatively as a way to deepen the experience. We could do this by exploring metaphors, images that come to mind, feelings or sensations in your body, dreams and by using art materials. The imagination can be very useful in unlocking feelings and experiences that appear to be out of our grasp. Experience in art-making is not a requirement for this kind of work. I welcome individuals of different age, gender, culture, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, ability, faith, and lived experience. I’m committed to creating a space that honours your uniqueness Experience Originally from Ireland and from a background in art and design, I have lived in many different parts of the world and so have had the opportunity to have experienced a variety of cultures. In the UK I have experience working in the NHS with individuals with acute mental illness; in the charity sector with women surviving domestic violence; with people of Irish heritage who have experienced childhood abuse, trauma, and the legacy of colonialism and the church; in community counselling services; and care management for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.
