About Me

I am an experienced and professionally qualified therapeutic counsellor working in the Kings Lynn - West Norfolk area.
Providing counselling for just over 15 years, seeing clients privately for 11 years. I have helped with a range of issues offering both short term or long term counselling.

My previous professional work has always involved helping others, working within the public sector (the prison service as a prison officer for 17 years) and then charitable organisations The Matthew Project West Norfolk, The One to One Project King's Lynn and Dhiverse Cambridgeshire.

How might counselling help

Sometimes life events or change can bring to the surface issues that have been around for some time. Thoughts and feelings often kept within us for many for different reasons. This can leave us feeling invisible, trapped or isolated. Counselling offers a conversation, space to reflect a place to speak what might feel unspeakable.

When we are listened to without expectation or judgement, it can leave us feeling less burdened, and over time we can begin to consider circumstances and situations in other ways. It’s this insight and awareness that can help us live the life we would like.

Next Step

Usually we begin by arranging an initial meeting this will enable us both to decide whether we would like to work together. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and able to trust. Should we decide together that I am able to offer something which feels beneficial, we would arrange to meet on a weekly or fortnightly basis, usually on a regular day with a specific time slot. However, I’m mindful that life has commitments and restraints so I will do my best to accommodate these realties.

There is no obligation to return after our initial consultation, you may decide to look elsewhere with a view to finding the person and the type of therapy or counselling that feels right for you.
