I offer a space which is friendly, calm and purposeful.
You may have specific goals to work on and are looking for something solution-focussed. Or over a longer-term period, we can focus on your past and present experiences and consider what may be driving some of the difficulties you experience. Ultimately, the sessions aim to encourage your self-esteem, autonomy and choices, making your experiences less restricted by feelings; empowering you to think openly about what is happening and to work out how to move forward.
I am trained in several approaches and work integratively, using principles from psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and person-centred approaches. I specialise in working with anxiety and relationship issues. This covers a range of difficulties including those related to self-esteem, social anxiety, specific phobias, attachment, intimate relationships, self-destructive behaviours, anger and OCD.
Whatever you are seeking therapy for, it is important to choose the right person who will be respectful, transparent, honest and professional. My training was in the field of Counselling Psychology, which has a humanistic value base at its core and does not assume a superiority of one way of thinking, feeling or knowing. This means that I am able to be flexible and adaptable, and I do not wish to put you in a box.
Whilst therapy is a step to take, it should be a welcoming space where you can go at your own pace. If you would like to arrange an initial appointment or speak further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
