Dr Tom Bichard Integrative psychologist , WC1X
I offer a therapy space which is friendly, calm and purposeful. When we first meet for an initial session, we can speak about what you may be looking for from therapy. You may wish to explore your current situation, and to seek a way through specific issues and dilemmas. Or over a longer-term period, we can focus on your past and present experiences and consider what may be driving some of the difficulties you experience.
I specialise in working with anxiety and relationship issues. This covers a range of difficulties including those related to self-esteem, social anxiety, specific phobias, attachment, intimate relationships, self-destructive behaviours, anger and OCD. Whatever reasons you are seeking therapy, it is important to choose the right person who will be respectful, transparent, honest and professional. Therapy is a step to take and it should be a little challenging, but it should also be a welcoming space where you can go at your own pace.
Ultimately, therapy aims to encourage your self-esteem, autonomy and choices, making your experiences less restricted by feelings; empowering you to think openly about what is happening and to work out how to move forward.
If you would like to arrange an initial appointment or speak further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

I began as a counsellor around 9 years ago, working with people at risk of suicide. I have since worked in the NHS, private and charity sectors.
As a Counselling Psychologist, I am trained in multiple approaches and work integratively, using principles from psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and person-centred modalities.
Counselling Psychology has a humanistic value base at its core and does not assume a superiority of one way of thinking, feeling or knowing. This means that I am able to be flexible and adaptable: I do not wish to label you or put you in a box.
I have worked with multiple diverities and adopt an anti-oppresive practice. My experience has included working with anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, abuse, anger & rage, substance misuse, alcoholism, OCD & compulsive behaviours.
I have also worked within a Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy model, which considers core ways of responding and reacting to significant others, facilitating new or pre-existing ways to relate.
