Simina Simion
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
Hello, I'm Simina. I wanted to share a bit about what you can expect from psychoanalytic psychotherapy with me.
Every one of us carries a unique story, filled with emotions, challenges, and dreams. Life often throws us complex challenges, and having someone truly listen can make a world of difference.
In our sessions, it’s not just about therapy — it’s about connection, understanding, and discovering the strength within you.
Here are some of the areas I specialize in:
ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
Stress management.
Childhood trauma, particularly developmental trauma.
Eating disorders and weight loss.
Attachment and separation difficulties.
Identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and interpersonal issues.
Coping with employment and financial difficulties.
Pre- and Post-natal depression and the challenges of new parenthood.
Fertility problems and coping with miscarriages.
Addressing gender and sexuality concerns.
Navigating the process of grief and loss.
Managing anger and emotional difficulties.
Addressing issues related to migration, acculturation, and deportation.
Working through marital problems and relationship struggles.
Addressing feelings of loneliness.
Understanding and managing difficult dynamics in relationships.
Improving relationships and becoming a better version of yourself.
Learning to let go of the past and embrace personal growth.
An essential aspect of my practice as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist is my commitment to working with individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds. I possess a profound understanding of diverse cultures and religions, which enables me to offer culturally sensitive and inclusive therapy. This multicultural competence allows me to connect with individuals on a deeper level, respecting their unique perspectives and values.

Training and qualifications
I am a member of the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) in North London. Besides my training as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, my clinical training also includes a BSc in Forensic Psychology and extensive experience of working in female and male prisons across the UK. I’ve also worked within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost service in Clapham South offering long-term therapy and have been employed to offer shorter-term counselling with NHS patients at a GP surgery in Kennington. Now, I work as a Telephone Counsellor for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) organisation as well as supporting private clients by offering private Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy to young people and adults who can benefit from this form of therapy.
