Simina Simion
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
My name is Simina, and I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with a background in Psychology. My experience involves working with people that suffered trauma, facing mood swings, depression, anxiety, addictions, eating disorders and/or personality disorders. Sometimes, you want to let everything out, and find the light at the end of the tunnel. If you are struggling with any of these issues, my therapy offers an outlet to diminish your frustrations and manage stress.
With roots in original Freudian Psychoanalysis, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a depth model of thinking and understanding the mind. It is the most complex talking-therapy with a significant focus on increasing a person's self-awareness of any deep emotional issues and internal conflicts that might have a bearing on present difficulties. From teaching coping strategies to move past loss and grief to help overcome physical, sexual and mental abuse, work-related problems, and challenges within relationships.
My skills offer the tools and techniques to strengthen your emotional resilience, rebuild energy and motivation and to see beyond feelings of loneliness. Within a few face-to-face or online sessions, you will be lighter, less conflicted, and find a way to repair fractured relationships and take your life towards a more meaningful direction. Along with a good listening ear and patience, I offer plenty of encouragement and support that will make a positive difference. To start living a life that you deserve – one that is not burdened by negative emotions and all the accumulated stress, please contact me for a chat and how we can proceed to improve your wellbeing.

Fees
I offer a scale of fees so you can access therapy whenever you need it, and whatever your income. Fees range between 65 pounds and 90 pounds per session depending on your personal circumstances. My aim is to make talking therapy available and to encourage people to seek support when feeling stressed or depressed. If you are a student or on a low income the weekly fee is £50.
Training and qualifications
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (training member), and a member of the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) in North London. Besides my training as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, my clinical training also includes a BSc in Forensic Psychology and extensive experience of working in female and male prisons across the UK. I’ve also worked within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost service in Clapham South offering long-term therapy and have been employed to offer shorter-term counselling with NHS patients at a GP surgery in Kennington. Now, I work as a Telephone Counsellor for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) organisation as well as supporting private clients by offering private Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy to young people and adults who can benefit from this form of therapy.
