Hello! My name is Shammi

As a Counsellor working in an empathic and confidential way, I believe my relationship with you in the therapy room is important for change and transformation.

So I aim to create a space which is open and non judgemental, where we can explore whatever you may bring together in a collaborative process. 

I feel each client is unique, therefore each therapy process is unique.

Respecting and valuing you an an individual, I am mindful of culture, religion, sexuality and the beliefs and values you hold.

I have worked with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression,  bereavement, relationship issues, family dynamics,  identity, sexuality, abuse; sexual, emotional, self harm and childhood trauma, and cultural issues.

People come to therapy for many different reasons, such as feeling low, feeling overwhelmed with work or home. Life can bring about very stressful times, death, divorce, financial worries.

Then there are issues you may have been struggling with for a very long time, traumatic experiences, sexuality, or 'just feeling different' or that you 'don't belong.

Therapy is also a place for personal self-development: exploring experiences and patterns in your life that you have been curious about.

I offer both long term ( open ended ) and short term work ( usually 12 week ) depending on the issues and your needs
